Yes. We never own your domain. We manage its DNS on your behalf, and your dealership keeps the registration and handles its renewal and fees. You can move the nameservers elsewhere whenever you choose.
Registrar and DNS
Your registrar account holds the domain registration and names the nameservers it uses. The nameservers hold the live DNS records, which point your website, business email, and other services to the right places.
Once your domain uses Remora's nameservers, changes in your registrar's DNS editor no longer affect the live service. We manage those records for you.
Changing DNS records
An authorized representative can ask our Success Team to add, change, or remove any record. We never need your registrar login for ordinary DNS work. If your IT team wants to manage records directly, we can give an authorized user DNS access in the portal.
Send us the provider's exact instructions with each request. A verification record and a mail-routing record do different jobs. List each one you need.
Why we recommend it
When we manage DNS, we can coordinate your website directly and prepare a launch by copying your existing records before anything changes. If your IT team prefers to keep DNS, we provide A records instead.
If you ever move to another provider, we help coordinate the nameserver change. Your domain stays yours throughout.
