We provide HTTPS for every website we serve and manage certificate renewal. A domain change needs to keep two kinds of records in place: the records that validate the certificate and the records that send visitors to the website.
Certificate validation records
We may ask you to add CNAME records that validate your domain for its certificate. They can look unrelated to your website address, and they allow for the certificate be issued and renewed. Keep them in place while your site runs on Remora.
If your website moves to another provider, that provider will issue its own certificate with its own validation records. We remove ours as part of the cutover.
Redirect domains
An old domain can redirect correctly to your new website and still show a certificate warning first. Every address needs a valid certificate, including addresses used only for redirects. When planning a move, list every domain involved. If a warning appears, send us the exact address and we will check the certificate served there.
Security audit findings
A security scan can flag a certificate on shared infrastructure that is separate from the one your website serves. We check the certificate assigned to your site and the connection your visitors actually use. Send us the finding and we will review it.
