How are Google Tag Manager access and tag changes handled?

Third-party tracking on your site runs through a Remora-managed Google Tag Manager container. We invite your authorized team or agency to build and submit tags, and we handle review and publishing.

Why we manage the container

A tag manager can put code anywhere on your website. When every vendor adds its own container, it becomes hard to see what is running, who still needs it, and which script caused a conflict or tracking gap. Old containers linger after a dealership drops the service behind them.

With one managed container, every change reaches us before it goes live. We review security, measure speed, and investigate integrations together. Code that fails security review is never published. If acceptable code slows the site, we report the impact to you.

Access and publishing

Send us the website and the Google account email for each person who will manage tags. Your dealership approves third-party tracking for its site. Each person uses their own invited account, with no shared passwords. We log every website update made in our portal in a change history with the person's name and a timestamp.

Your agency builds the tags in the managed container and tells us when its submission is ready. We review that version and publish it once it meets our requirements.

What happens to older vendor containers?

Some older sites still carry containers installed under earlier arrangements. For a cleanup, tell us which providers you still use. We identify the containers that belong to them, move the tracking you need into the managed setup, and remove the old installations.
