Six Percent of All Jobs Will Be Automated by Robots in 2021

It's no big secret that chat bots, autonomous vehicles, virtual assistants like Siri and Cortana, and a bevy of other novel futuristic technologies are all taking the world by storm today. However, could these cutting edge digital tools supplant American workers in the not so distant future?

According to Olivia Solon of The Guardian, this question isn't actually "if," but rather "when" this shift toward virtual automation takes hold. In fact, Solon explains – via a study conducted by Forrester Research – that over six percent of all jobs in the U.S. will fall under the jurisdiction of robots and artificial intelligence (A.I.) by 2021.

And which sectors will be most affected by this transition? Solon notes that customer service and transportation appear most likely to be the first to make this shift toward partial or full automation.
